Always keep your swords in one place! On Your hip and ready for action... I mean someone actually has to reach towards you to get the blade out in which time you have enough time to pull it out and stab him for his insollence.... Damn i want a sword, just a Roman Gladius or some greek sword. Falchatta maby... those katanas and long swords arent my type, require you to lift your sword high or to the side or something making you open for attacks while a short sword means you can get up and personal stab able swords just require a short thrust.........
oh and poor guy, had a sword and didnt get to die in combat honorably.

I feel a little sad for everyone involved, particularly the siblings. I won't blame the parents (yet) because maybe they didn't realize the thing would fall so easily or something.
I'm glad I don't have kids and the only swords I have are wooden bokken.
If you've got a metal sword: make sure it's blade it dull if you display it openly. If you don't want to drill a hole in it, make sure it is firmly attached to the wall. Whenever you catch your kids screwing around near it slap them or spank them once and put them in time out. A little physical pain as long as you don't hurt them is justifed when they are screwing around with things that can easily kill them.
If any of you on the forums have weapons and kids, learn from this. Weapons aren't bad as long as you properly respect them and teach that respect to your kids.
Now for a few jokes:
All swords should be sold with trigger locks and require a 3 day waiting period.
We need a national registry of sword owners.
The NRA is to blame for this for wanting people to have guns in their homes!
Those parents should be talked to sternly and be sent to their room.
This is a vast mediveal wing conspiracy against children.
One children die every year because of replica sword accidents; we need to ban all metal objects from entering the house for the safety of the children.
Hil Clinton and Joe Liberman: "Video games are to blame for him knocking the sword off of the wall and dying. We need to ban all kids from playing video games."
NRA: "Silly renassiance-fair, hippy rejects! He should have used a real weapon to accidentally die by!"
Arny: "You killed my mother! You killed my father! You stole my life! Oh wait... I'm not playing Conan the barbarian right now."
Knight fan: "Samurai wannabes..."
Samurai fan: "Knight wannabes..."

Well, I think that anyone who has a damn sword hanging over their head should know the cautions they should take before placing it up. Especially considering they were playing ball, they must be...

This is why parents say "Don't play in the house."
Now they can modify it to "Don't play in the house, you can get stabbed with loose sharp objects!"
Mm.

dude work in a knife shope. cut myself all the time (not on purpose), most recently while playing with a butterfly. i have learned a few things, one of the main things is that you should always keep a sword sheathed when on display, anything without a sheath should be kept inside a showcase.
i blame the parents for being careless in this situation.

BTW, Pie, you can have Cloud's buster sword. I'll take Vincient's Peace Maker (A real weapon, I might add.)

Final Fantasy weapons....
I'll stick with my Granasaber, thanks.
But seriously, how does something fall off of a wall and hit you? Unless you're right up against the wall...

thats not stupidity though.. thats fanatics fighting for what they believe is right with the only weapons they have available..
by the way i am neither condoning nor sympathising with any terrorist group nor the killing of another human for any reason. im just saying there is a difference between what happened with the sword and acts of terrorism. two completely different things
